Berry "Jack" Krikken and Sebastiaan "Weatherman" Weerman, both from Haarlem, form the musical duo Jack and the Weatherman. Two close friends, united with their band by a shared mission: to spread their sun-soaked songs around the world. Their music blends elements of pop, folk, reggae, and hip-hop, celebrating the beautiful moments in life while also acknowledging the fragility of that beauty. It’s music that speaks to both the heart and the mind, and their dynamic live shows will leave you with a deeper appreciation for life.
The duo’s name is personal: Berry is "Jack" (a nod to the Dutch word "krik," meaning jack), and Sebastiaan is the "Weatherman" (a direct translation of his last name, Weerman). Together, they embarked on a grand adventure filled with music, joy, and sold-out shows in the Netherlands and beyond. Without the backing of a label or management, they independently wrote and released three EPs: Something Positive (2014), Homewards (2015), and Some Kind of Purpose(2016), along with two full-length albums: The Lucky Ones (2018) and One of Us (2021/2022).
Their music has been a consistent hit, racking up nearly 100 million streams worldwide and earning a platinum award in the Netherlands for their single "Till The Sun Comes Up." They’ve toured extensively, headlining shows across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and the UK.
After the global pandemic, Jack and the Weatherman made a powerful comeback, celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2023 with a nearly sold-out show at the prestigious Paradiso in Amsterdam. They released three new tracks—"Starlight," "Incredible," and “Miracle"— which gained national airplay in Germany and Belgium. This was followed by a successful tour through Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and a completely sold-out tour in the Netherlands.
In spring 2024, their hit song "Till The Sun Comes Up" featured in the Dutch film De Terugreis, which screened in cinemas across the country. By September, the film became widely popular on Netflix and went on to win two Golden Calf awards. Their latest single "Thorns" has been making waves, added to radio playlist NPO Radio 5 and landing a spot in Spotify’s popular "Koffiehuis" playlist.
With such momentum, Jack and the Weatherman are gearing up for a new European tour called: ‘The Expanse’ in spring 2025 and are working hard on their new music set to release leading up to the tour.
